Vintage Porsche 911 with Modern Sound

When designing custom audio you need to consider the entire process before anything can begin. This includes customer expectations, vehicle limitations, and budget for the build.

After I have drawn the initial design I then create a template and begin to layout speaker placement.

Each panel is then finished on a router, prepared for factory matching vinyl, wrapped, and then attached to the door card.

Correct power distribution is required for multi channel multi amp systems. Crossovers need to be mounted securely while speaker wiring is routed safely from moving parts within a door. Amplifiers also require a secure mounting system. Here I built a lightweight plastic tray to hold both amplifiers while being hidden under a seat for this install.

My client went out of his way to find a pair of era correct audio pieces for his ‘84 Porsche 911. A Blaupunkt Bamberg receiver is paired with a very cool Blaupunkt 5 channel gooseneck EQ with working volume unit meters.
The audio signal is sent into a Musway USA M4+ amplifier which directs the signal to a set of Dynaudio 3-way component speakers semi-discreetly installed into the front door location. The DSP processor in the Musway M4+ gives this vintage looking system perfect modern sound that we have come to expect.
